How many emails should a cold email sequence have?#
Four. Occasionally three, rarely five, almost never more.
The reasoning is boring and empirical. Reply volume across sequences follows a steep decay: email 1 carries roughly 40-50% of total replies, email 2 another 25%, email 3 about 15%, and everything after that splits the remainder.
